Here I am, trying to make kettle corn my first time. Note the smile still on my face.
Oh what fun when the kernels start to pop. (Still smiling!)

After the first batch, it went downhill quickly and I wasn't smiling anymore. My arms were getting sore and I quickly realized, with oil on the popcorn, the cats will be more interested in it than they should be if it is hanging on the tree. So, we splurged on this air popper from Wal Mart! MUCH easier!! :)
Time to string the popcorn. I remember doing this when I was little and sticking myself with the needle lots.....some things never change.

Two cups of hot cocoa while we decorate the tree....ahh, so cozy! (We need mini marshmallows!!)

Drinking my cocoa in my Duke hat and a Charlie Brown Christmas on in the background! Now, the only thing missing is.....FAMILY!!!!

Raja admiring our pretty gumdrops while we decorate the tree.

NessNess helped us put the tree together. And what a big help she was!

The first ornament on the tree....I wonder who put this one on.....?

Jed's first Hallmark ornament that I got him the first Christmas we were together. :)

An oldie, but a goodie! It says "Granddaughter, you're the apple of my eye." I miss Grammy and Grampy!!!!

Another favorite. There are a few cat ornaments on the tree....what a shocker! (What lovely strung popcorn!!!)

Jed Daniel helping decorate! :)

My very first Hallmark ornament. Go figure, it was a cat!

Perfect snowflakes made by Mommy and Grammy for my tree! Thanks guys! They look great on the tree! Love you lots!

Finding the perfect spot. It takes a lot of concentration.

Jed's idea of a tree topper. Hahaha! We need his and hers Christmas trees.

Raja admiring the beautiful tree and planning out what ornament is coming down first.

All done! A little country Christmas tree. I'm used to much larger trees, but this one turned out quite nice. Jed is used to real Christmas trees, which we originally planned on doing, but our friends Erin and Sam had this tree still in the box at home and they don't use it. So they gave it to us. It will work out nicely for this year, and hopefully we'll be able to find a little bit bigger one after the holidays when they all go on sale!

I like it. The best part is you guys did it yourselves and that will make memories.
NessNess is my favorite picture.
Laura - the tree looks lovely! I like your star on top & the popcorn, too!
My favorite pictures are the one of Raja looking at the tree & then you in your duke hat, with Peanuts on in the background.
Wish I were there - I'd bring the marshmallows!
Gwama says: Raja you are so pretty looking out the window at the lights! :) Nessie, you are one crazy kitty! Keep up the good work and keep those kids hopping! Laurie, I'm so glad you documented Jed actually decorating the tree! :) Love ya all
Raja looks so angelic looking at the tree. Love her!!! :)
Laura, I know you wish you could be here, but you are making it so beautiful there...all those traditions from Hallsport, plus new Idaho traditions you and Jed are building! Nice work!!!
"Thanks Gwam! Can't wait to see you...bring bacon!I love you Gwammy!":)
"Mom, I'm keeping the Jed and Laura on their toes for sure! Sometimes the hypie bug bites me and I can't help myself!" love, NessNess
Thanks Sherry! It's definitely different, but we are trying to make the best of it! Miss all of you lots!
